(TORONTO – March 3, 2016) Two highly respected Toronto accounting firms have merged. They are Hogg, Shain & Scheck and Marinucci & Company. The new company, which will maintain the name Hogg, Shain & Scheck, will be based in new facilities at 1800-2235 Sheppard Ave. East, Toronto.

Marinucci & Company, founded in 1987, specializes in accounting services for charity and not-for-profit businesses.

Hogg, Shain & Scheck, founded over 40 years ago, works primarily with small and medium sized companies, Canadian subsidiaries of foreign entities and not-for-profit organizations.

“We are delighted with this merger,” said Ed Scheck, partner at HSS and former Chair of the Toronto Region Board of Trade. “It enables us to provide a more diverse level of accounting, audit, taxation, advisory and consulting services for our clients.”

“We are equally pleased with this new partnership,” said Sam Marinucci, the former owner of Marinucci & Company. “With the added depth of our team members and resources, we will have more expertise for our clients.”

The firm will continue to build its reputation as a company that supports their clients through personalized, practical and timely service at fair value. With both firms having similar clients, the transition and servicing of clients will be smooth.

Mr. Marinucci will be joined as a partner at the new firm with three of his former staff members Kinga Wnuk, Dami Okunade and Jackie McAlpine.
