On July 18, 2017 Finance Minister Bill Morneau released his much anticipated consultation paper proposing changes to how private corporations are used to gain tax advantages. The proposals outlined in the consultation paper are significant and will affect everyone who owns a private corporation. The following three items are targeted in the consultation paper: ·

Alex Briganti graduated from York University in 2006 receiving a Bachelors of Administrative Studies with Specialized Honours in Accounting. Alex articled for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Toronto and received his Chartered Accountant designation (now CPA) in 2010. There he specialized in IFRS audit and assurance engagements, within the financial services group.
Alex then gained additional experience with a local public accounting firm over the past four years as a Manager with senior experience, where he specialized in quality assurance consulting and assurance engagements. Alex supported a group of external public accountants in adhering and exceeding the quality control standards of his profession. Outside of the office, Alex’s other interests include soccer and volunteering for not-for-profit organizations.

Ron has recently graduated from Schulich School of Business with his MBA after becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2007. He has worked primarily in the assurance area, helping to make informed decisions for national and mid-sized firms. Ron’s experience includes audits of not-for-profit and public listed entities with significant endowment and trust funds, and audit of compliance with government regulations. Ron is also active as a board member for various non-for-profit organizations.
